However, despite their attempts to keep their romance under wraps, their covert plan to conceal their relationship from the show’s crew was swiftly compromised by a single revealing gesture.

Once they started seeing each other, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki took extensive measures to keep it concealed. However, despite their extended efforts, some on the set began to suspect there was more between them than met the eye.

Co-creator Bill Prady was among those who came around their romance, specifically after one incident. In The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, Prady recalled the incident when he came to the realization.
He shared that there were conversations about Cuoco and Galecki having gone to see a water documentary. While Galecki’s eclectic tastes didn’t surprise him, Prady found it unexpected that the Role Play star would have an interest in such a niche subject.
He said, as per Vanity Fair,
At that point I was like, There’s no way that any woman on the planet goes to see a documentary about water unless she’s passionate about water, or she’s sleeping with the guy.

The Roseanne actor himself couldn’t explain his choice of watching a Russian water documentary, though he admitted that it was certainly not something his ex would have preferred.
However, it wasn’t the only incident that raised eyebrows, as there were other behaviors and occasions that fueled specualtions and suspicion about their relationship.
Simon Helberg And Others Also Caught Up to Their Romance
Nikki Lorre, the assistant director, also recalled incidents that contributed to suspicions about Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki’s relationship. She recounted a day when Galecki was late for rehearsals, prompting numerous calls that went unanswered.

Lorre was eventually sent to his home to wake him up. “When I got there, there was this whole gate situation, and his bedroom was in the back,” she recalled. When she called over to inform the situation she ended up talking to Cuoco, who gave her the gate code and directions for entry.
“I remember thinking, ‘How do you know all this, Kaley?'” she mused. And one of the couple’s castmates had also pieced together the situation between Cuoco and Galecki.
Simon Helberg, who played Howard on The Big Bang Theory, admitted he wasn’t surprised when Cuoco and Galecki’s relationship came to light. “It was not a big surprise,” he said arguing, “Yeah, you guys were flirting.”

Their relationship was quite serious, with reports claiming that they even considered getting married at one point. However, after two years together, the couple decided to part ways. Despite this, they maintained a strong friendship and remained dedicated to their work on the show.
