The One Health And Fitness Mantra That Jennifer Aniston Refuses To Follow: ‘That’s Not True At All’

Jennifer Aniston never ceases to speak her mind, which is why she is considered to be one of the most relatable, vocal and confident celebrities in the world. Whether it is about her age, or her personal and professional journey, she has always led an unapologetic and unabashed life and spoken her truth, despite being in the public eye and being aware of the relentless scrutiny and trolling that happens. When it comes to health and fitness, the 55-year-old — who shares inspiring and impressive workout videos on social media from time-to-time — knows exactly what works for her and what does not. And she wants everyone to know that punishing the body in order to become 'fit' is not the right approach. If anything, it can be counter-productive and detrimental. The 'FRIENDS' actor recently revealed in an interview the one health and fitness mantra that she absolutely stays away from and does not believe in. Read on to find out.

"No pain, no gain. That's not true at all. You can actually have gain with no pain," the actor revealed in an exclusive interview with 'People' magazine recently. Considering the fact that she looks superlative while in her mid-50s, we are inclined to follow her and take her advice when it comes to health and well-being.

Aniston also stated in the interview that she has tried different things and followed different routines over the years, and her understanding of health and fitness has also evolved. She told the publication of the tips and tricks she has found along the way: "I know more, because I've tried it all. And my big takeaway is, 'Boy, you didn't have to hurt your body so much back then. You didn't need to beat yourself up'," she stated.

Most fitness experts are of the opinion that while it is important to push yourself out of lethargy, it is also crucial to know when to give your body the rest it needs. And that there are certain exercises that work for you, and certain others that do not. Fitness is a personal journey and the idea is to find a rhythm and routine that benefits you individually. This is what Aniston seems to be following these days, because she looks healthy and happy.

The actor revealed in the interview that the 'no pain, no gain' philosophy was something that she originally believed in as well, just like so many other people in the world, who continue to push and punish themselves to the point of pain and exhaustion. "I always had the message in my brain. You [got to] do 45 minutes of cardio, then floor work and then weights."

But, with time, she found a new appreciation for certain workout routines and has started to enjoy them. "You can actually enjoy your workout, not break your body and have an incredible transformation," the actor — who is engaged in a low-impact fitness program — told People.

Interestingly, Aniston also does not believe in making resolutions. "I'm not a good person to ask about that. I don't make resolutions. I really don't. I don't want to let myself down. I don't want to fail at that," she was quoted as saying.
