Season 7 of The Kardashians briefly began with Kris Jenner pre-facelift.
During the Thursday, October 23, premiere, footage from season 6 showed Kris, 69, teasing her medical procedure, telling the producers, “So take a good luck at this moneymaker because I am getting a facelift next week on Wednesday.”
Kris was feeling “refreshed” by the time she was speaking to the cameras for season 7 before channeling her inner Meryl Streep for a montage inspired by The Devil Wears Prada. Elsewhere in the episode, her daughter Kim Kardashian addressed the impact of her mother going under the needle before they started filming season 7.
“My mom, like everyone is talking about her face,” Kim, 45, shared in a post-credits scene. “We were at Lauren Sanchez’s bachelorette dinner and someone taps my mom on the shoulder and they go, ‘Kim?'”
Kim continued: “She must have told this story 500 times. She is milking this. I am so happy that now I know where I can go when the time comes.”
Kris recently revealed the details of her facelift, telling Vogue Arabia in August, “I had a facelift about 15 years ago, so it was time for a refresh. I decided to do this facelift because I want to be the best version of myself, and that makes me happy. Just because you get older, it doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself.”
Before turning 70, Kris reflected on “aging gracefully.”
“If you feel comfortable in your skin and you want to age gracefully — meaning you don’t want to do anything — then don’t do anything,” she added. “I feel it can be very inspirational to people who aren’t feeling so great about themselves.”
Kris explained: “Even when I had my hip replacement, we filmed it. I have the conviction that sharing these things can be helpful.”
Since discussing her facelift, Kris has made it her mission not to gate keep as she’s recommending plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Levine to others, saying on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast earlier this month, “When it really started exploding, other people were sort of taking credit for his work. I said, ‘I really want you to have the credit for what you did. ’He didn’t want the attention, which I loved.”
Levine has faced some challenges in the aftermath of Kris’ shout out.
“If somebody calls and says, ‘I’m Kris Jenner’s best friend and can I have a consultation?’ They have to say the secret password,” she explained. “If I told you how many times his office has called and said, you know, Julie, you know, Monopoly’s on the phone and she says she’s your best friend. I’m like, ‘I’ve never heard of her.'”
Kris added: “Definitely people have tried to get in. … So, if you know me, you know what the password is.”
