It’s an early Saturnalia miracle!
Five years after CBS’ The Big Bang Theory wrapped its 12-season run, series stars Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco (aka Sheldon and Penny) reunited Friday in New York City, where Parsons currently stars in the Broadway production Our Town.
“I surprised him,” Cuoco wrote on her Instagram story, along with a photo of her arms wrapped around her former co-star. “Go see Jim Parsons in @OurTownBroadway! It is beyond!”

While this is the first time that fans have seen Parsons and Cuoco together since Big Bang’s May 2019 series finale, this isn’t the first time that their paths have crossed. Later that same year, Cuoco made an uncredited voice cameo on the prequel series Young Sheldon, on which Parsons served as narrator and executive producer.
More recently, in Young Sheldon’s 2024 series finale, Parsons and Mayim Bialik reprised their roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in scenes that revealed that the scientists are now parents of two — and Parsons’ very last line doubled as a shout-out to Cuoco’s former alter-ego. When Amy mentioned that their daughter was interested in acting classes, Sheldon responded, “I told you we never should have let Penny babysit.”

Cuoco, who’s currently promoting Season 2 of Peacock’s Based on a True Story, is next expected to headline Kansas City Star, a new HBO comedy from the creative team behind Max’s Emmy-winning Hacks. She also continues to voice the title character in the Max animated series Harley Quinn, which is awaiting a Season 5 premiere date.
