Salma Hayek Embraces Her Gray Roots During Glam Red Carpet Appearance at 2025 Breakthrough Prize Awards

Salma Hayek isn't shying away from her grays.

The actress attended the 11th Annual Breakthrough Prize Awards and Ceremony in Los Angeles on April 5 and was seen with her black hair parted down the middle and styled into voluminous curls. Instead of colored highlights, the 58-year-old allowed the gray hairs at her temples to add visual interest to her locks.

The House of Gucci actress flaunted her grays by keeping the rest of her outfit simple for the evening. She opted for a black maxi dress with sheer billowing sleeves and a high neckline, and accessorized with jewels by Maison Boucheron. She added a pop of color with terracotta shades of makeup.

Following the event, Hayek took to Instagram to share her appreciation for being able to attend. "A night celebrating the brilliant minds in science that are reshaping our future at the Break Through Prize awards, I was honored to participate and be seated next to #HudaZoghbi former recipient and Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics, Molecular and Human Genetics, Neurology and Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine and on top of that- a Lebanese woman, like me.

Hayek last showed off her grays at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards. For the show, she wore a burgundy column gown with a sequined bust by Gucci with 300 carats of Colombian emeralds from Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

The actress's silver strands were on display, as she wore her hair in a half-up look. The gathered portion of the style allowed Hayek to show off the few gray hairs located at her temples.

Hayek lovingly called her gray hairs "the white hair of wisdom" in a September 2020 Instagram post. In 2023, she showed off her grays — and gave tips to her Instagram followers on how to get the best of both worlds without reaching for the nearest box of hair color.

"Here is a tip to cover your white hair without dyeing it," she explained in a Instagram photo set, with one picture of her wearing sunglasses and the following photo of her wearing her hair down. "Don't wear your glasses on your hair!!! Bring on the wisdom."
