It is never easy for fans to unexpectedly say goodbye to their favorite characters — and 2025 has featured an influx of shocking departures from our TV screens.
Euphoria went through several cast changes after a lengthy delay between season 2 and 3. In addition to Angus Cloud‘s 2023 death, Storm Reid exited the show in 2024 after playing Gia, and Nika King was also not brought back for more episodes.
“Season 3 is coming out. I don’t f—ing know. Don’t ask me. I don’t know. It’s one of those things,” King quipped during a stand-up show in March 2024. “People are like, ‘We need season 3.’ I’m like, ‘Bitch, I need season 3. I haven’t paid my rent in six months.’ And Zendaya’s over in Paris at Fashion Week, I’m like, ‘Bitch, come home! I need you! Mama need you!’”
She continued: “You’re laughing and I’m serious. I haven’t booked anything since Euphoria, this is some bulls—. I thought my career was on the rise. After Euphoria I thought I was good. It don’t work that way. I called [Taraji P. Henson], she was like, ‘Bitch, get used to it.’”
Meanwhile in the reality TV world, Rebecca Minkoff announced in February that her time on The Real Housewives of New York City has come to an end.
“I am truly grateful for the experience, the friendships and the fans that have been part of this RHONY chapter,” the fashion designer wrote via Instagram. “Time to turn the page.”

She continued, “You’ve seen me grow up over these last seven summers. I’ll always be beyond grateful for the memories, the community, and the opportunities this wild ride has brought me. But like all good things (and some bad decisions), it’s time for this chapter to close.”

Razat, who played Camille on the Netflix series, confirmed in April that she was parting ways with the show after four seasons.
“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris. It has been a truly wonderful experience — one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories,” she said in a statement to TV Line. “I’m deeply grateful to Darren Star and the entire team at Netflix and Paramount for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of Emily in Paris world.”

Simone Kessell (‘Yellowjackets’)
Kessell played adult Lottie for two seasons before it abruptly came to an end.
"I was pretty brokenhearted, because it felt like it had come to an end just when I felt Lottie was coming into her own. I was excited that season 3 would take her somewhere interesting, and unfortunately, they just decided that story line was no longer," Kessell told Variety in February. "I guess Lottie’s death then serves as an investigation for [Christina Ricci's] Misty to be Citizen Detective, and discover how Lottie passes, what happened — and everyone’s a suspect."
Kessell admitted she had questions about how the creators came to their decision.
"I don’t know what happened in that writers’ room, or whether they decided that they wanted to bring in a fresh character, or just have the three main girls. As an actor, you always think, 'Was it something I did? Was it my performance? Could I have done it differently?' she pondered. "I just felt it was premature because I wanted to see — and I know that the fans and the supporters of the show did too — where Lottie was going. So to have that just cut off didn’t feel good."
