Miley Cyrus fans have long believed that her gorgeous gold dress in the "Flowers" music video was a Jennifer Lawrence diss.
To coincide with the release of her highly anticipated visual album Beautiful Things, Cyrus is clearing up those feud rumors and setting the record straight… sort of.
It all started when Cyrus wore a gold dress for her 2023 song release, similar to the gown Lawrence wore in 2012 for the Hunger Games premiere.
A possible diss made sense to fans considering Lawrence starred in the film alongside Cyrus's ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, and shared several kissing scenes with him on-set.
It didn't help that the Hunger Games star admitted to Andy Cohen to kissing Hemsworth off-screen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
But Cyrus says there was no feud, nor was that gold dress a diss on the Oscar winner.
In a clip shared to TikTok, Cyrus was signing autographs when she was asked, "Miley, was your 'Flowers' dress a reference to Jennifer Lawrence?"
To which she responded, "No, but I love that dress of hers."
Many fans who watched the clip still don't believe that the gold dress wasn't a diss, though with one commenter writing, "That’s a classy way to say yes ✨"
Another agreed, suggesting, "The Disney media training kicked on."
That seems to be the consensus as another fan wrote, "Oh that was nice. That was. Oh chefs kiss. That was about her 💀💀💀😂😂"
