Megan Fox expresses deep regret for unintentionally overlooking an 11-year-old fan’s heartfelt request

What do you do when a gesture of admiration for your favorite celebrity doesn’t quite go as planned? For Harvey Kindlon, a heartfelt token of adoration towards Hollywood starlet Megan Fox, who just turned 38 yesterday, once resulted in an unforeseen viral moment.

Sadly, the Holiday in the Sun actress once turned down her young fan who tried to give her a sign of his love in front of a horde of paparazzi, who were obviously taking pictures of the entire event. It was way back in 2009 in London, when the then 11-year-old Kindlon stood among millions of fans, clutching a yellow rose for Fox, who soared to fame as Mikaela Banes in the hit flick, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Despite the flash of paparazzi cameras, the fan’s attempts to hand the actress the flower were met with a brush-off that spoke volumes without saying a word. Although Kindlon never got to meet Fox, he did get to meet a slew of other celebrities, including Rihanna and even Beyoncé!

When Megan Fox Unintentionally Ignored an 11-Year-Old Fan

When it comes to buying Megan Fox flowers, it seems like roses are a no-go. Just ask Harvey Kindlon, the actress’ fan, who learned this the hard way back in 2009. When Fox was in the UK promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, hordes of fans, including then 11-year-old Kindlon, showed up to cheer her (see Daily Mail).

She shot to stardom in Michael Bay’s sci-fi action franchise when she donned the role of Mikaela Banes, Shia LaBeouf’s character’s girlfriend. As a result, she attracted constant attention from men wherever she went. Kindlon finally took a chance in 2009 after he noticed Fox trotting past him outside her London hotel.

Kindlon seemed really excited to give Fox his gift, but she seemed to ignore him and walk right past him, looking rather disgusted.

In 2009, Kindlon, then 11, held a yellow rose for Fox, who became known for her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

It was also fun for the kids on the playground to remind him of the cold shoulder he got; Kindlon had previously told UNILAD that it began “blowing up more and more”. When Fox, who was 23 at the time, learned of the controversy while on a Transformers press tour, she apologized publicly to the boy.

With a regretful expression, she gave Collider the explanation (via Pop Culture):

There were, like, 80 million people everywhere. It was dark, all I see are flashes… It breaks my heart… you know his name, and I will send him a personal apology. I’m horrified.

Fox continued with a heartfelt apology, saying:

I’m sorry, sweet boy, I would never do that to you. I would gladly accept your rose if ever see you again. Paparazzi would not let you to me. I’m so embarrassed.

Although he never met Fox, he did meet a number of other celebrities, including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Adele, and even Beyoncé (see Pop Culture). The report also states that he has now moved on from his celebrity obsession and works as a hotel host in London, sharing his meet-and-greet stories on TikTok.

The Mystery Behind Megan Fox’s Instagram Clean-Up on Her 38th Birthday

Megan Fox appears to have deleted all of her previous photos from her Instagram account and unfollowed everyone as she approached her 38th birthday on May 16. As of Friday, her account indicates that she still has 21.9 million followers despite having no posts and no one to follow on the platform.

Fox has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos of a recent Brunette Bob makeover on Instagram (see PEOPLE), along with a makeup-free selfie and some whimsical glittery makeup looks, in recent months. We learned from The Standard that in February 2023, the actress removed her Instagram account. However, she came back a few days later to address rumors regarding her split from Machine Gun Kelly.

Interestingly, note that the mother of three celebrated MGK’s 34th birthday last month. Tiffany Haddish, Evan Ross, and Amber Rose were among the guests at Kelly’s house party, which Fox attended, according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE at the time. Afterward, MGK even shared a photo of himself with Fox on his Instagram handle.

Fox appears to be aiming for a fresh start, at least digitally. However, the fact that many of her recent posts have been removed from her social media account will make her fans & friends discontent.
