Kesha vs Katy Perry: TiK ToK singer poses for racy cowgirl photoshoot and takes another subtle jab at pop star rival after she teamed up with Dr. Luke

Kesha appeared to take another subtle jab at rival pop star Katy Perry in a racy cowgirl photoshoot she conducted at a Los Angeles gas station on Thursday.

The TiK ToK singer, 37, donned a white tank top that read the phrase 'LOL' – a reference to a post she put on X/Twitter after learning Perry, 39, was working again with producer Dr. Luke, who Kesha has past accused of physical and sexual abuse.

Kesha rounded out her summertime ensemble with a red cowboy hat, red skirt and black thigh-high boots at the gas station, as she posed with a nozzle alongside a red convertible.

The Grammy-nominated vocalist's celebrity presence caused a traffic jam, leading the manager to ask her to leave, TMZ reported.

She drove the convertible off the premises before circling back into the station, where the manager blocked her path, according to the outlet, at which point she departed.

Perry 'knew exactly the album she wanted to make and put together the team to make it happen,' a Capitol Records source told Rolling Stone of the collection of talent the former American Idol judge put together for her first release since 2020's Smile.

In addition to Dr. Luke, Perry's co-collaborators on the forthcoming sixth album include Max Martin, Sarah Hudson and Stargate, according to the publication.

Perry had been asked about working with Dr. Luke in the wake of the allegations while leaving an event at Paris Fashion Week Wednesday, TMZ reported.

Perry did not respond to the questions, 'Isn't your album about women empowerment? Why are you working with Dr. Luke?' when she was making her way out of an event.

Kesha penned a tweet that read 'lol' on June 17 in the wake of news that Perry was collaborating with music professional Dr. Luke, who Kesha was in extensive litigation with after she made the aforementioned claims against in a 2014 lawsuit.

A number of followers speculated on the meaning of Kesha's 'lol' tweet, with one speculating that 'she's laughing at katy and her new song,' while another asked, 'Is this Katy shade?'

'It’ll never be a "Woman’s World" bc people like Katy Perry continue to support and uplift abusers in the industry like Dr. Luke,' one user said.

Another added, 'I’m actually in shock how so many Katy Perry fans are defending her with this Dr. Luke thing… it’s ok to hold your favorite artist accountable btw.'

One user said that Perry had been calculating in the move, as she 'waited for the whole court process to end before calling him again.'

One user said they 'won’t be listening,' while another said, 'Some people make music with integrity, while others just care about having a number 1.'

The fallout from the allegations and long-running legal battle with Kesha led artist Doja Cat in December 2021 to declare that she would not collaborate with him moving forward.

'I don’t think I need to work with him again,' Doja Cat told Rolling Stone. I don’t think I need to work with him in the future. I know that.'

Perry, a native of Santa Barbara, California, released a clip on TikTok previewing her upcoming track Woman's World, which is set to be released July 11.

Perry this past February said she was departing the series American Idol after seven seasons to put her attention toward her career as a solo artist.
