Kaley Cuoco's crime show has debuted with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score for season 2. While she has many credits to her name, Cuoco is best known for playing Penny in all 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, in which she brought many of the funniest and most heartfelt scenes to life throughout the CBS sitcom's run. Penny's friendship with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) became a particularly celebrated element of the series. Prior to The Big Bang Theory, Cuoco played Bridget Hennessy in the ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules.
After The Big Bang Theory ended, Cuoco starred in and produced HBO's The Flight Attendant. The series blended elements of dark comedy and drama as Cuoco's complex character, Cassie Bowden, worked to solve mysterious murders while navigating her own struggles with alcoholism. Cuoco has also voiced Harley Quinn in the popular adult animated series of the same name since 2019, and starred in the 2024 Prime Video action-comedy movie Role Play, in which she played a mother and wife who is secretly an assassin.

The Sophomore Season Is Being Well-Received So Far

Our Take On Based On A True Story's Season 2 Rotten Tomatoes Score
Season 2 May Be Even Better Than Season 1
Even though the critical score will likely change, the 100% debut is a promising sign for Based on a True Story season 2. Season 1's critical score was 76% and the audience score was 77%. 100% is a significant improvement over these scores, and even if the score does drop closer to 90% or 80%, this would still be an improvement from season 1. While the first season of Based on a True Story was finding its narrative footing, season 2 seems to have hit its stride.
