Who would have thought the popular DC villain Harley Quinn could spark a rumored feud between Kaley Cuoco and Margot Robbie, who portrayed the character in their respective projects? While Robbie famously embodied the character in DC films, Cuoco is known for voicing Harley Quinn in the animated series.
Despite both actresses receiving widespread praise for their performances, it once led to rumors about a rivalry between the two. However, The Big Bang Theory star later dismissed such speculation, stating there’s plenty of room in Hollywood for two Harley Quinns.
Kaley Cuoco And Margot Robbie Got Involved in a Fake Feud Over Harley Quinn
In 2020, rumors started circulating about a feud between Kaley Cuoco and Margot Robbie over the DC character Harley Quinn. While Robbie has portrayed the character in films like Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey, Cuoco has voiced Harley Quinn in the animated TV series.
Reports claimed that the tension between the two actresses was so intense that they refused to work together for a Comic-Con panel. “They each balked,” the report stated, as per Daily Mail.
It also claimed professional jealousy and personal dislikes between the stars, noting, “Not only is there professional jealousy, but they also just don’t like each other.”
However, it also described the claims as “hearsay,” with no solid evidence backing them up. Cuoco wasted no time in addressing the rumors, taking to Instagram to share a snippet of the report with a one-word response: “Lol.”
The Flight Attendant star also dismissed the rumors in a later conversation with Interview Magazine, explaining she had never even met Margot Robbie, much less had any sort of feud with her.
Kaley Cuoco Dismissed the Rumored Rivalry With Margot Robbie
In a following interview months after the rumors started, Kaley Cuoco addressed the false claims of a feud between her and the Babylon star, firmly denying any rivalry.
“But I’ve never even met her,” the Emmy-nominated actress told Interview Magazine, adding that she admired the Bombshell star while calling her “cute.” Cuoco shared her shock over the rumors, saying,
There was an article that came out that said we would not show up together at Comic-Con. We refused to be on the same stage together. Neither of us was even at Comic-Con, okay?
“I love her,” the actress further said before adding, “She’s so cute.” Robbie has been closely associated with the DC character since she took on the role in Suicide Squad and has since reprised her role in Birds of Prey and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
Cuoco, on the other hand, has taken on the DC role in the animated series since 2019 and will be returning as Harley Quinn in the upcoming fifth season of the show, which is set to release in November 2024.
