Jennifer Lopez is opening up about the resentment she had towards Ben Affleck after their 2004 breakup. In the couple's upcoming documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told (out tomorrow on Prime Video), Lopez revealed that she was angry with her now-husband "for a long time," though she has since forgiven him.
“I think I was angry at you for a long time,” she says to Affleck in the documentary after he asks her if she's forgiven him, according to People. “But that heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out to being better people. I think I’ve forgiven you all the way. I think I need to forgive myself [for] some things.”

The husband-and-wife duo first got together in the early 2000s after meeting on the set of their famous flop film Gigli. The two became engaged, however, they postponed their 2003 wedding just days before they were set to walk down the aisle. Eventually, the pair called it quits in 2004, but reconnected 17 years (and a couple marriages) later in 2021. Earlier this month, Lopez released a visual album This Is Me…Now which details her journey to finding love. While promoting the project, Lopez has gotten vulnerable about just how much their breakup affected her.
“I knew in my heart that I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life, I knew that,” she said during an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe. “But it didn’t feel like we were going to make it. And so it scared me.”
At the film's premiere, Lopez got emotional when talking about the movie and her relationship with Affleck. The star teared up while discussing her "20-year journey" to finding true love, something that's depicted in the Prime Video movie. She also gave her husband the sweetest shoutout, getting choked up again in the process before cracking a joke. “I know that he hates that I’m [thanking him] right now," she teased.
The Greatest Love Story Never Told will be available for screening tomorrow (Feb. 27) on Prime Video.
