When the weather in New York City hits 95 degrees, it’s time we all take a good, hard look at what we’re doing to the planet. That’s what I imagine Jennifer Lawrence was thinking when she slipped on her statement-making T-shirt.
Amidst the city’s heatwave, the actor stepped out in the graphic tee that featured an illustration of planet Earth in blue and green, accompanied by the word “RECYCLE” up top in funky, colorful letters made out of recyclable items. The bold find is vintage, from 1995, and proves that yes, reminding passersby about global warming can be fashionable.

The Die, My Love star styled the tee unexpectedly, layering it over a silky babydoll dress with a lace hem, which was itself layered over matching cropped white pajama-looking pants. The loose and airy capris were also decorated with lace at the ends. (In this heat, we’re all about stepping out for an errand run in breezy loungewear and sandals.)
The actor stayed cool in strappy brown leather sandals and shielded her face with a white Ralph Lauren baseball hat and brown tortoiseshell sunglasses. She added a pop of red to her look via a watermelon-colored leather handbag—the rare Hermès Clemence Victoria, to be exact—and further accessorized with a dangly gold pendant necklace.
The Hunger Games alum recently welcomed her second child with husband Cooke Maroney, so it makes sense that she is consciously thinking about the future of Earth. We should all follow suit.
