Jennifer Lawrence will star in and produce the film adaptation of Paul B. Rainey's acclaimed graphic novel "Why Don't You Love Me?", a dark comedy exploring marriage, alcoholism, and depression.
The screenplay will be written by Robert Funke, with Lawrence co-producing under her banners Excellent Cadaver and Square Peg, alongside A24, Justine Ciarrocchi, and Rainey (executive producer).
Lawrence is also set to produce and star in 'The Wives', a Real Housewives-inspired murder mystery acquired by Apple Original Films, with Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley writing the screenplay.
She recently produced and starred in the R-rated comedy "No Hard Feelings" released by Sony, and received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the film.
Lawrence's production company previously collaborated with A24 on the film "Causeway."
Lawrence worked on the documentary "Bread & Roses," shedding light on Afghan women's experiences under Taliban rule, and is currently working on the film "Die, My Love" with director Lynne Ramsay.
A24 recently acquired the horror package "Mice" and received a new investment from Josh Kushner's Thrive Capital.
