Jennifer Lawrence rocks a red midi skirt on a rare date night with husband Cooke Maroney in New York City

Jennifer Lawrence showed off her cool girl style while rocking a graphic t-shirt and bright red midi skirt on a night out with her husband Cooke Maroney.

As the lovebirds made their way to Tom Colicchio's restaurant, Craft, in Flatiron, New York City, the Oscar-winning actress, 33, exuded confidence as she strutted down the sidewalk in a pair of studded Tory Burch flats, alongside the art gallery director, 39.

The Joy star completed her ensemble with a pair of oversized black sunglasses and a large St. Agni tote, which she wore over her shoulder.

Meanwhile, Maroney sported an open blue button-down, plain white t-shirt, green slacks and a pair of light brown sneakers.

The happy couple, who wed in 2019, a year after they were introduced by a mutual friend, were enjoying a rare evening away from their two-year-old son, Cy.

The screen star and Cooke became engaged in February 2019, before tying the knot in Rhode Island that October.

Jennifer formerly dated British actor Nicholas Hoult, 34, and filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, 55, both of whom she has collaborated with on films.

In November, the performer revealed that she totally revamped her approach to her family's safety after becoming a mom.

While chatting with fellow celebrity mother Kylie Jenner for Interview Magazine, Lawrence admitted that she was initially overwhelmed with fears about her and her son Cy's safety after she gave birth to him in February of 2022.

The Silver Linings Playbook star attributed her sudden desire to get security guards to 'intrusive thoughts and anxiety.'

Kylie claimed that she as in the same boat, and she said she had never had security guards of her own until she became pregnant with her daughter Stormi, whom she shares with her ex Travis Scott.

In the 'five-plus' years since then, she has had a two-guard team 'in rotation.'

'[Stormi is] very familiar with them, which I feel comfortable with,' the Kardashians star explained. 'She actually has a lot of love for them. I just tell my security to not make it so serious, so they have a good relationship. I'm trying to figure it out too because I never had security growing up, so I don't know what that's like, but I try to make it as normal and friendly as possible.'

But Jennifer initially wanted her security team to be 'invisible,' though she quickly found out that that approach wasn't feasible or helpful.

'Yeah, [having a] friendly [relationship] is nice because before I hired them, in my mind I was like, I want them to be invisible. I don't want my kid to see you or know you,' she shared. 'And then once they start working for you, it's like, 'Well, wait. This is a person in our life. He's helping us.''

The actress added that it was 'not really a good lesson to ignore the person that's helping us.'

'It's probably better to say, 'Say good morning to Sean. Hi. How are you?' We've incorporated them more in our lives, which surprised me. That wasn't how I planned it,' she added.

In another conversation for Interview magazine, last year, Lawrence explained motherhood made her more selective about which projects she chooses to take on.

'There's no squeezing when you have a baby,' she told Cameron Diaz. 'There's just home, and it's the best. It definitely helps weed out projects: "Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No" Is this worth being away from my child for half the day?'

Jennifer is currently preparing for the wide release of the documentary Bread & Roses, for which she served as an executive producer.

The Sahra Mani-directed film is centred on several Afghan women dealing with the rise of the Taliban.

As a famous parent, she also acknowledged that all kids 'have advantages and disadvantages when they’re born.'

'The best thing I can do is just make sure he knows he’s loved, and that he’s our number one priority, and try to be a good example of kindness,' she stated. 'I’m sure there will be challenges specifically from my choices and my lifestyle, and we’ll both have to confront that and deal with it when that day comes.'

Although she was 'so nervous' about him being photographed during her pregnancy, she has accepted the paparazzi as part of her son's life.

'If he feels that I’m anxious before I leave the house, or I’m angry when we’re outside, that’s going to impact him,' she explained. 'So it’s actually done the opposite, where I’ve gotten a little bit more zen and a little bit more relaxed with getting photographed because I don’t have a choice. You just have to accept it, and take a deep breath and walk.'

During an interview with Vogue, the star said the morning after she gave birth it felt like her 'whole life had started over.'

'Like, now is day one of my life. I was just so in love … My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that,' she gushed. 'I mean the euphoria of Cy is just — Jesus, it’s impossible. I always tell him, "I love you so much it’s impossible."'
