Movie merch doesn’t immediately come to mind when it comes to Fashion with a capital F—but Jennifer Lawrence might just change your mind about that.
Of course, Lawrence’s latest outfit didn’t feature just any old movie merch. She specifically wore a $330 T-shirt released from Loewe’s Jonathan Anderson, who designed the costumes for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers. The tee in question—worn by Zendaya and Josh O’Connor in the film, and later repped by both stars on the movie’s press tour—boasts black block text that reads “I TOLD YA,” printed over gray cotton. (There are also white tee and sweatshirt versions available on the Loewe website.)
Lawrence tucked her holy-grail T-shirt into some slouchy black trousers with a high-rise, wide-leg fit, and topped off the look with plain black sandals and tortoiseshell sunglasses. She elevated the look with her choice of purse: a black iteration of Dior’s coveted Saddlebag, complete with a gold “CD” hardware attached to the shoulder strap. As for her jewelry, J-Law let the shirt do most of the talking and kept the sparkle to a minimum, simply opting for a pair of diamond stud earrings.

Anderson drew inspiration for the tee from the late John F. Kennedy Jr., who was photographed in the ’90s wearing a shirt with the same message while playing Frisbee with his dog. The designer told Bazaar that the film “pushed me to consider how the dynamics of sports play out both on and off the courts.” He added, “I was thinking about how youth culture has a different, more involved relationship with the sports world now. Athletes have become brands, and brands have become a global phenomenon, and I wanted the style of the film to reflect this reality.”
