Jennifer Lawrence is making the mob-wife aesthetic maternity-friendly.
The actress — who is expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney — was spotted out and about in New York City on Wednesday, February 13, in a coat from By Malene Birger.
In a pony-skin style leopard finish, her outerwear looked as if it could have easily been lifted from Carmela’s closet from the early aughts hit HBO show, The Sopranos, whose wardrobe was characterized by sumptuous fur coats, skintight animal prints, and big, bold gold accessories.
But leave it to Lawrence, 34, who is well known for her “chill” and down-to-earth personality, to put a low-fi twist on loud luxury fashion in an oversize silhouette that flattered her baby bump.
The statement coat spoke for itself, leaving her with plenty of room to wear a layer over navy sweater and matching joggers. The results were relaxed yet refined, just like her accessories.
She threw The Row’s Park Tote over her shoulder, which struck a perfect balance between form and fashion. Considering the carrier’s cult-favorite bag’s generous proportions, it could also make for the ultimate designer diaper bag once Lawrence soon becomes a new mom of two.
She went incognito-chic with round tortoiseshell sunglasses and a ribbed knit beanie, which perhaps unintentionally, drew attention to her new honey blonde highlights and blunt bangs. Sturdy Jil Sander all-weather winter boots grounded the look, while serving as further proof that just because the temperatures drop, it doesn’t mean that your style standards also have to.
Lawrence has taken her second pregnancy in stylish stride, as her maternity wardrobe is filled with fashion’s most-wanted items, like cozy sweaters from The Row and La Ligne and even similarly comfortable but cool sneakers from the New Balance x Aime Leon Dore collaboration.
Judging from her latest look, it’s clear that as Lawrence nears the end of her third trimester, she isn’t letting her fashion sense slip for even one second.
