Jennifer Aniston Says Pal Jason Bateman’s 18-Year-Old Daughter Borrows Her Bikinis: ‘We’ve Come a Long Way’

Jennifer Aniston's closet is spilling over into Jason Bateman's world.

In a new cover story for Vanity Fair's September issue, Aniston, 56, opened up about her close relationship with the actor, which she said has come to a point where Bateman's 18-year-old daughter, Francesca, borrows her bikinis while they're on vacation.

"Your child is now wearing my bikinis. Whoa. We’ve come a long way," the Emmy winner said in reaction to seeing the next generation of Batemans in her clothes.

What's also come a long way is '90s fashion, which Aniston as Rachel Green in Friends brought to a new height of fame that persists to this day. The decade's comeback is surprising for the actress, but something to "celebrate," she said, "except for those narrow sunglasses and the really thin eyebrows."

Aniston and Bateman have been close pals on and off screen for over 30 years, during which time the two have starred in five films together, including The Switch, Office Christmas Party, and both Horrible Bosses films.

Speaking with Vanity Fair himself, Bateman, 56 — who alongside his wife, Amanda Anka and children join Aniston for her routine Sunday dinners — described Aniston as "incredibly attentive and consistent with her curiosity and warmth" in her connection with Francesca and his youngest Maple, 13. “She almost makes us parents look bad," he joked.

“She’s the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls’ lives. She has questions about boyfriends," he continued, adding that Aniston takes on a "co-mom" role with his wife rather than simply being an "aunt" to Francesca and Maple.

"She’s been a part of their lives from the moment they were born. It is odd for them to even understand the public Jennifer Aniston.”

When Bateman was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017, Aniston called herself the "luckiest" to witness "Jason Bateman the husband, the father, the fantastic friend and, as we lovingly call him, the grandfather" in a heartfelt tribute.

Recently the two stepped out for a double date alongside their partners, including Aniston's new boyfriend, hypnotherapist Jim Curtis. Photos obtained exclusively by PEOPLE showed the quartet dressed in breezy summer looks for their New York City outing that turned out to be a three-hour-long date night in the West Village.
