Jennifer Aniston Has Donated Money To A Number Of Charities

Dumplin' star Jennifer Aniston may be known for her countless film roles in light-hearted romantic comedies, or for her portrayal of Daddy's girl Rachel Green in long-running American sitcom Friends, but off-camera, she's also grown a strong reputation for her philanthropic efforts.

According to LookToTheStars, which collates 'celebrity charity news and information', throughout her career, Aniston has supported a huge range of charities and foundations, including several cancer causes like Stand Up To Cancer, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, the Luke Neuhedel Foundation and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

She has also supported children's and youth charities such as Urban Arts Partnership, Friends of El Faro and Clothes Off Our Back, along with human rights charities like US Campaign for Burma, OmniPeace, AmeriCares and Habitat for Humanity.

While Aniston – who turned 50 today – doesn't usually talk publicly about her philanthropy, in a Christmas Day social media post a few years ago, her then-husband Justin Theroux shared their favourite charities, alongside a selfie of he and Aniston.

"Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas!" Theroux wrote, before adding: "If there's any Xmas cheddar leftover…

@doctorswithoutborders."

Back in 2010, Aniston was involved in providing relief to victims of the Haiti earthquake. According to E! Online, the actor gave $500,000 to Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health and AmeriCares. Aniston, and also participated in a 'Hope For Haiti' telethon, which drew 83 million viewers.

In October 2017, Aniston reportedly donated a whopping $1 million to charity amid the destruction of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria – with $500,000 earmarked for the American Red Cross, and the other half going towards the Ricky Martin Foundation, which aimed its focus specifically in Puerto Rico.

Martin took to Twitter to personally thank the 'amazing' Aniston, saying she was helping save lives.

Recently we reported the cast of Friends may be earning a nice boost to their paychecks, thanks to a new Netflix deal that may mean Aniston's charity donations are far from over.

The deal reportedly cost Netflix a whopping $100 million (£78m), meaning the main stars will enjoy a pretty penny – with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry receiving two per cent of profits, i.e. a further $1.4 million padding to their syndication earnings.

Happy Birthday, Jen!
