Jenna Bush Hager is sharing her thoughts on how people are reacting to Kris Jenner’s viral new look.
“I think Kris looks gorgeous,” Bush Hager, 43, shared on the Thursday, May 29, episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. “I also think everybody’s talking about it, which is sort of odd that in this day and age we talk about women’s looks [in] such a way.”
Thursday’s guest cohost, Justin Sylvester, agreed. “When someone looks a little different, people want to know, they want to know and celebrities get pressured to say what they want to do,” he said. “But I gotta tell everybody, they don’t have to tell you. It’s not their job to tell you what’s going on. … Stop asking celebrities what they’ve done. But girl, can you tell me because you do look fierce.”
Bush Hager noted that several of her Today guests over the years have “talked about all [the] different stages” of aging and whether they have chosen to undergo cosmetic procedures. When it comes to her own family, Bush Hager said her mother, former first lady Laura Bush, has done “very little” in terms of skincare over the years.
“She also was, like, a drug store purchaser. Eckerds was where she got her makeup,” Bush Hager explained. “She upgraded a little bit. She doesn’t wear very much makeup, and my grandmother was that way, too.”
Sylvester, 38, thought it was “great” that Bush Hager got to “grow up with people who just wanted to age gracefully.” Bush Hager replied that “aging gracefully can look like a lot of different things.”
Sylvester also opened up about his own experiences with Botox. “I want people to have the right direction,” he said of being candid about what work he gets done via social media. “I’m not a gatekeeper.”
Bush Hager, meanwhile, said her guide to maintaining good skin includes washing her face and using lots of moisturizer and sunscreen. “I probably get a facial once every two-and-a-half years, three years,” she said before telling Sylvester, “You have a better routine than I do.”
Earlier this month, Jenner, 69, went viral for sporting a youthful glow while stepping out with daughter Kim Kardashian in Paris. While details about her specific procedures remain under wraps, Us Weekly confirmed New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Levine is behind her new look.
Per his website, Dr. Levine specializes in using “the latest techniques to provide the most natural-looking results possible.” His list of offered procedures includes chin augmentations, facelifts, blepharoplasties (a.k.a. eyelid lifts), neck lifts and rhinoplasties.
Jenner has previously been open about other procedures she’s had done, including documenting her earlobe reduction on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2018. The following year, she gifted Botox gift cards to her friends and family members.
“For me, [Botox has] been really great,” she told People in December 2019. “If you’re responsible, and you talk to your doctor, I think it works. It’s something that I’ve been using for a long time.”
