Jason Bateman Says Jennifer Aniston Is ‘Closer to a Co-Mom’ to His and Wife Amanda Anka’s 2 Girls

Jason Bateman is sharing just how close his good friend Jennifer Aniston is with his daughters.

The actor, 56, spoke with Vanity Fair for their recent story on the Friends star and shared that Aniston is very close with his two daughters, Francesca, 18, and Maple, 13, whom he shares with wife Amanda Anka. In fact, Bateman says Aniston is more of a "co-mom" with Anka than just a friend or aunt.

"She almost makes us parents look bad because she's so incredibly attentive and consistent with her curiosity and warmth," the Arrested Development alum told the outlet of Aniston, whom he met while costarring on a '90s sitcom with her friend.

"She's the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls' lives. She has questions about boyfriends," he continued.

When he's asked if she's an aunt to his daughters, Bateman said, "Aunts you might not see all the time. She's almost closer to a co-mom with Amanda. She's been a part of their lives from the moment they were born."

"It is odd for them to even understand the public Jennifer Aniston," he added.

Aniston has also opened her closet up to Bateman's kids. When they've been on vacation together, the actress remembered seeing Francesca in one of her bikinis.

“Well, there’s my bikini. Your child is now wearing my bikinis. Whoa. We’ve come a long way," Aniston joked.

Aniston and Bateman often go on trips together. The two were recently spotted with Bateman's wife Anka, Amy Schumer and Aniston's rumored new love interest, Jim Curtis, as they took some time off on a yacht in Mallorca.

Although Bateman and his wife prefer to keep their family life private, the actor and his daughter Maple were spotted sitting courtside at Los Angeles Lakers game in May 2023, hanging out alongside Jason Sudeikis, and his son Otis.

For the outing, the Ozark star dressed casually in a pair of gray jeans and a navy denim jacket, which he paired with a purple Lakers cap. His daughter looked sporty chic in a pair of cream joggers, a black T-shirt and basketball sneakers.
