I’ve Never Owned Adidas Before, and These Jennifer Lawrence-Worn Sneakers Are Now My Go-To Shoes

I’m a flats girl. I’ve got a closet full, as I love feeling comfortable wherever I go. However, this year, I’m trying to step up my style game, so I’m switching to fashion-forward sneakers to achieve that effortless cool-girl look. Luckily, the Jennifer Lawrence-worn pair of Adidas Gazelles checks all my boxes. 

As someone who has never owned Adidas sneakers, I didn’t know what to expect from the shoes, but I shouldn’t have been worried. While I was skeptical of the popular shoe at first, I knew they were my style as soon as I pulled them out of the box. I don’t like chunky sneakers, so I was drawn to the Gazelles’ slim, minimalist look. The heel and sole are a uniform height, with no added platform. The suede upper added texture, and I loved the teddy bear-like pattern on the tongue. Plus, the beige fabric and iconic Adidas stripes in white made for the perfect neutral palette. I immediately wanted to wear them with everything.

Once I knew I liked the sneaker’s style, I put their comfort to the test. I knew I likely wouldn’t use them for exercise (I’ve got dedicated shoes for that), so I decided to wear them on grocery day when I’d be shopping and on my feet for hours. 

As soon as I laced up the Gazelles, they were comfortable. I have a wide foot and was worried the style would feel tight or the laces wouldn’t be long enough, but they fit great. The sole is also firm and supportive without being uncomfortable, and the suede upper at the back of the heel is padded with a leather lining, so no matter how many steps I take, I never get a blister.

Since getting the Gazelles, I’ve worn them everywhere. Whether it’s to brunch with friends or running errands, they’re my new go-to, but I’m not the only person who loves them. One shopper who bought a pair for their “particular” mom said she already wants a second pair.
