When you think of the most beautiful actors in 90s television sitcoms, Jennifer Aniston’s character Rachel Green in the show FRIENDS is bound to come to mind. After the series’ success, the actor delivered wonderful performances one after the other, driving home her popularity.
In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Aniston spilled the beans on her diet and fitness secrets which have helped her stay in shape at the age of 55.
Morning drink
The Murder Mystery actor shared details on the go-to drink she indulges in, right before her workout: “I drink colostrum first thing in the morning, with room temperature water and a whole lemon squeezed into it.” In case you don’t know, colostrum is the nutrient-rich milk produced by your breasts during pregnancy.
In the colder months, she prefers adding some extra ingredients to spice up the concoction. “I’ll steep a little teaspoon of ginger, which is good for your digestion and your immune system, and then I’ll put a little drop of Manuka honey. It’s so delicious served hot,” Aniston said.
According to her, taking care of herself, whether through monitoring what she eats and drinks or by making sure her mind and body are in tip-top shape — is of the utmost importance.
Over the course of years, the actor revealed that she loves to come across new ways to maintain her health and also spread that knowledge. “I love to share anything, any health tips, food tips, sleep tips. I actually love to hear those, but I also love to share information that I learn.” A hot take she learnt on her wellness journey? No one should accept the popular fitness mentality of “no pain, no gain.”
Revealing her ongoing partnership with a low-impact fitness program, Aniston shared that it is possible to actually enjoy your workout, and not break your body to have an incredible transformation. The program goes on for six weeks and includes four workouts each week, assisted by personal trainers.
“In all the workouts I’ve tried over the years, this one has transformed my body more than any of the others, and it’s a really enjoyable workout that I don’t feel intimidated by, that I don’t dread,” she continues. “I get excited, because I also know that if I’m not feeling 100%, if I only have 20 minutes in me, that’s all I do. … It meets you where you’re at, and I love that about it,” said the actor.
She revealed that as a result of following this new workout regime, she has been noticing several welcome changes throughout her body. “I’ve never had this kind of definition. These workouts get into those micro little muscles that are underneath bigger muscles that you just don’t even know existed, so you’re really getting strong from the inside out.”
She also encouraged people to take it up this year and achieve their fitness goals.
