Actress and model Megan Fox posted photos of herself and fiancé Machine Gun Kelly cosplaying as Zelda and Link from The Legend of Zelda for Halloween. Nintendo's beloved franchise has been around for several decades, so it comes as no surprise that there are countless fans that have cosplayed as characters from the action-adventure games.
Megan Fox recently posted pictures to her Instagram account of both her and Machine Gun Kelly's Halloween costumes, as reported by Polygon. Fox is wearing the latest in an ever-growing collection of gorgeous and regal Princess Zelda cosplays, complete with a maroon corset, an ornamented long skirt with the Triforce symbol, thigh-high golden heels, blond hair, and elf ears. Machine Gun Kelly, meanwhile, is wearing gray denim pants and a gray hoodie underneath a dark green tunic. The rapper holds in his hand a small single-bladed sword instead of the trademark Master Sword Link commonly wields. Like Megan Fox, MGK also sports realistic-looking elf ears to complete the look.

Celebrities Bring Legend Of Zelda Into The Mainstream Spotlight

Though the cosplay is impressive, with its elf ear prosthetics and Fox's elaborate dress, it's just a drop in the ocean of Legend of Zelda cosplays, some of which are so realistic that they seem to bring Breath of the Wild's Link to life. Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly took a much more reserved approach to the characters. As opposed to wearing Link's usual green garb, Kelly dressed as Link in a more subdued fashion, using more subtle pieces to emulate him instead of going for a more detailed recreation. Fox's dress is closer to the source material, but she's still taken considerable creative liberties, and the Triforce symbol is really the only thing lifted directly from the games.
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's Legend of Zelda cosplay may not be the most accurate, but it's still an impressive display of appreciation for the beloved series. Celebrities don't often choose to represent video games in such a thorough manner, since the industry doesn't always achieve the same level of recognition that movies and TV do. While this couple's costume might not be as detailed as a working Breath of the Wild Guardian cosplay, it's still admirable that Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are bringing the Legend of Zelda into the mainstream spotlight with their Halloween costumes.
It's likely that with Nintendo's upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, fans will have all new characters and enemies to base their cosplays on. There will likely be new outfits and clothing for Zelda, Link, and other Legend of Zelda characters that will surely make an appearance as well. Maybe next Halloween Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly will once again delight fans with their new take on the famous duo, this time using Tears of the Kingdom as a reference.
