Michael Bay is synonymous with explosions and intense action, but when Scarlett Johansson worked with him on The Island, she discovered a surprisingly soft side. Unlike the notorious issues Megan Fox had with Bay, Johansson found him unexpectedly kind and understanding.

You wouldn’t think a guy who’s synonymous with explosions and fast cars would have a soft side, but Michael Bay just proved us all wrong. The Transformers director was actually a total sweetheart to Scarlett Johansson on the set of their sci-fi flick, The Island.
The same guy who’s made a career out of blowing stuff up was all, “Just one more, I know you can do it” to ScarJo when she was about to lose it. This is a far cry from the stories we’ve heard from Megan Fox—when she was booted from the Transformers franchise’s third installment, Dark of the Moon. In a sit-down with Black Film, Johansson revealed:
Some of the days we have are really long you know and in Nat’s case you know I would kind of look at Michael and say ‘I can’t do it again, I can’t’ but he was very good about that, he was very sensitive and would go ‘Just one more, just one more. I know you can do it, fine’.
So, while The Island is packed with action and Johansson’s stellar performance, it’s also a story of unexpected kindness and support, showcasing there’s always room for genuine encouragement.

Scarlett Johansson is trading in her Black Widow suit for a dinosaur wrangler, and she’s taking a page out of Margot Robbie’s playbook to do it. The 39-year-old’s not only starring in the upcoming Jurassic World 4 but also producing the flick (via Cinema Blend).
Just like Robbie with Barbie, Johansson is showing that women can totally take charge in Hollywood. She’s more than just a pretty face; she’s a boss with a vision and isn’t afraid to make it happen. With Edwards calling the shots, Jurassic World 4 is set to be a visual knockout.
The Island is available to watch on Fubo TV and Apple TV.
