Seth Meyers, comedian and host of NBC’s talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers, started the year in punchy fashion. In his first episode of 2025, on January 7, he expressed his disappointment about having to scrap the script for his “A Closer Look” segment after Donald Trump, then president-elect, made headlines with threats to take over Greenland. Meyers dared him to go ahead and do it.

Just two days earlier, Meyers, 51, was at the 2025 Golden Globes, having been nominated for the best performance in stand-up comedy on television award with Dad Man Walking. He ultimately lost to Ali Wong.
Notably, he attended the ceremony without wife Alexi Ashe, despite its being his first Golden Globe nod. So what do we know about Ashe, who apparently is “so happy” that actress Jennifer Lawrence once had a crush on her man, as reported by People?

Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alexi Ashe is a human rights lawyer. She studied at Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles, then worked for more than four years, until 2018, as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn, New York.
Currently, she is an advisory board member of the global education non-profit concern Journeys in Film; the director of anti-trafficking policy at Sanctuary for Families, which is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence; and a board member of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women.

Meyers met Ashe at his Saturday Night Live co-star Chris Kattan’s wedding to Sunshine Tutt in 2008, according to People. Ashe was at the ceremony because her sister, Ariel, worked on the show as a set designer. “I had a sense that she was the closest I’d ever met to someone who I could see myself with. Pretty much right away,” Meyers told YourTango of their first encounter.
The couple became engaged in 2013 and married that year at Chickemmoo Farm on Martha’s Vineyard, with Kristen Wiig and Amy Poehler among the guests, according to Parade.
The comedian and actor John Mulaney was also a guest at the wedding and told Vogue that Ashe was still recovering from food poisoning that day. However, the doctor for the US men’s national soccer team and the NFL’s Chicago Bears, Adam Bennett, ensured she was feeling well enough to walk down the aisle.

Meyers and Ashe have three children: daughter Ashe Olson, named after Alexi and after Meyers’ mother; son Axel Strahl, born in their apartment building’s lobby, whose name “Strahl” comes from Ashe’s Holocaust-surviving grandparents; and younger daughter Adelaide Ruth – born at home.
