HOT NEWS – Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen Towers Over Snow White In New Image From Rachel Zegler’s Live-Action Remake

A new image from Snow White highlights the live-action version of an iconic villain. The 2025 Disney movie is a live-action remake of 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was the first feature length animated movie from the United States and became the first of many animated movie musicals produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The live-action Snow White, which was directed by Marc Webb, stars Rachel Zegler in the title role opposite Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen whose highest concern is being the fairest of them all, which forces Zegler's character into hiding.

USA Today has now shared a new first-look image from Snow White as part of a preview of upcoming 2025 movies. It shows the Evil Queen holding Snow White's hands while the pair are standing at the bottom of a staircase in the palace. Although the gesture could be familial, there is a cold imperiousness to the way Gadot towers over Zegler and her character has her hands held out for Snow White to grip them, forcing her to be the one to make the connection. What This Means For Snow White

The Evil Queen And Snow White Will Come Face To Face

This new image from the upcoming Disney movie not only emphasizes how menacing Gal Gadot's Evil Queen will be, it offers more insight into how important she will be as a part of the overall Snow White cast. In the original movie, the Evil Queen is an important presence, but she rarely interacts directly with Snow White. Instead, the iconic villain usually acts through other characters, including spying on her via the Magic Mirror and hiring the Huntsman to murder her.

The Evil Queen's primary interaction with Snow White in the original movie comes when she takes on the form of a hag who offers the title character a poison apple. However, the Snow White trailer has already revealed several added scenes where the two leads face off in person while the queen is still in her usual form. This image showcases another such moment, highlighting the fact that the two characters will come face to face much more often in live-action.

Our Take On The New Snow White Image

The Expanded Evil Queen Role Is One Of Many Changes

While this image highlights just one change that Snow White will be making to the original movie, it is one of many ways the upcoming remake will expand the 1937 fairy tale adaptation. Another key addition that the new movie is making is increasing the number of songs on the musical's soundtrack. On top of having the cast perform the original movie's iconic songs including "Heigh-Ho" and "Whistle While You Work," Dear Evan Hansen songwriting duo Pasek and Paul have penned new musical numbers such as "Waiting on a Wish."
