Doechii Helps Will Smith and Tatyana Ali Recreate ‘Fresh Prince’ Dance

Will Smith has reunited with his former Fresh Prince of Bel Air costar Tatyana Ali – and were joined by Doechii – to recreate their famous dance from the show.

The “Anxiety” dance, which first appeared in the popular 90s sitcom, is going viral on TikTok and Smith, Ali, and Doechii couldn’t resist getting in on the fun with their own take.

Smith, 56, posted footage via TikTok on Friday, March 14 which shows Ali, 46, listening to music through headphones.

Smith then creeps up behind her while mimicking her dance moves – echoing the original Fresh Prince scenes.

In the TikTok video, Doechii also joins the duo by dancing her way into the room and busts a move alongside Smith and Ali.

“Waited 35 years for this dance to trend,” Smith joked in the caption.

The “Anxiety” dance has started to trend on TikTok over the past month and previously caught the eye of Smith, who admitted he was impressed by people recreating the humorous scene.

“I’ve been watching y’all and every video has been better than the last!! Love that track @Doechii. @Tatyana Ali remember this?” Smith wrote on March 5 alongside a reshared video of the original scene which aired in 1990. In the original episode, the song played on Ali’s character’s headphones was never revealed.

It’s not the only time Doechii and Ali have recreated the dance, however. Doechii wrote, “Who else is forcing everyone to do this dance with them?” as she shared a clip of herself doing the dance, while Ali also shared another video of herself recreating the moves solo at an airport.

Smith rose to fame on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, playing Will from 1990 until 1996 before blockbuster movie roles like Independence Day and Bad Boys beckoned.

In his 2021 memoir titled Will, the actor opened up about the tricky decision to leave the show that made him famous after his contract ended after season 6.

“The storylines were becoming increasingly hokey and it was difficult to maintain the ‘Freshness,'” he shared.

Smith added that there was a specific episode that helped him make the choice that it was time to wrap things up.

“Anyone who has ever been on a sitcom can tell you the episode in which their show jumped the shark. Ours was season 5, episode 15, ‘Bullets Over Bel-Air,’ the one in which I got shot and Carlton started carrying a gun,” Smith wrote. “I had successfully fulfilled a promise to myself that I would never get caught in a cycle of deterioration without having the next thing on tap. The show could easily sustain another season; this was my family; I loved them. But a movie career was now a viable option; I was at a crossroads.”
