The same isn't the case with Alexander "A.E." Edwards, whom Cher gushed about and said is the answer to her prayers.

Cher and Edwards started dating in November 2022 after they met at Paris Fashion Week that year.

Since then, the music icon has received criticism for the age difference but has remained adamant on how age is just a number, as she previously told an Instagram troll that "love doesn't know math."

The "Believe" singer, whose career spans over seven decades, is said to be completely smitten with Edwards, who is also the father of a 6-year-old son, Slash, with model Amber Rose.

In her chat with Gayle King on daytime chat show "CBS Mornings," she gushed about how much she loves him and how having him in her life is an answered prayer.

"You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger. I just love him. I think he's beautiful and he's really talented," she told the host, per the Daily Mail.

It comes after she released the first part of her memoir "Cher: The Memoir," where she detailed disturbing incidents that happened in her previous marriage to the late Sonny Bono. In the book, which was released in November 2024, Cher alleged that Bono "manhandled" her and "seriously thought about" killing her at one point.

She was married to Bono between 1964 and 1975, but after that relationship ended, she married Gregg Allman that same year before calling it quits in 1979.

Many years ago, she opened up about how Bono had become controlling in their relationship, years after finding success as a singing couple and even launching their own variety show called "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour."

"He didn't want me to grow up or have any freedom," she told Parade. "I wasn't allowed to do anything except work. We worked more than we lived."

Char also spoke on how infidelity affected their relationship, saying, "Stardom made Sonny a huge womanizer."

She added, "One woman, or even five, was not enough for him. I found all this out afterward. I asked him, 'How did you manage the logistics?' I was trusting and faithful with him. The truth is, I'm not so sure we should've ever been husband and wife."
