Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have yet to settle their divorce due to various reasons which include a custody battle, even though the Maleficent actress called it quits on their marriage in 2016. While the couple were together for several years, they were only married for a brief while. Jolie claimed that there was an incident that took place days before she filed for divorce that not only traumatised her but also their children.
While the actress tries to build her career back to the top after a three-year hiatus from acting, Pitt might be plotting a revenge plan against his ex involving an old friend of his, who was chosen to star in Mr. & Mrs. Smith over Jolie before she was cast in it.

Just like his ex-partner, Brad Pitt has been making moves to return to the limelight once again. His company, Plan B Entertainment worked on a drama film called Nickel Boys that portrays child abuse. After notching an 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a great response from the overall public, Pitt might just find himself in talks for an Oscar.
Meanwhile, an inside source spoke to In Touch claiming that Pitt has been trying to be Nicole Kidman’s biggest supporter for her recent performance in Babygirl, which is scheduled to release on Christmas this year. The source said,
Brad has emerged as a real supporter of Nicole for her work in Babygirl and has even attended private industry screenings of the movie with Nicole, where he made no secret of how much he likes the film and her work in it.
Nicole Kidman so happens to be friends with Pitt’s other ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston. The source mentioned that the actresses became close only after Aniston parted ways with Pitt.
Obviously, the pieces don’t fit together quite well. Why would Pitt get close to his ex-wife’s close friend now? The insider claims it is to get back at Angelina Jolie.
To be fair, the movie itself is really in Brad’s wheelhouse and it features Nicole performing very edgy s*x scenes, but who are we really kidding here? This support, which is meaningful to Nicole and her campaign, is really just Brad’s way of getting back at Angelina.
Spicy! But there’s another reason that would make Brad Pitt seem a little less psychotic. Turns out, he does have a past with Kidman.

Don’t mistake the term “friendly” as “dating” because in this case, it literally might mean Brad Pitt and Nicole Kidman were friends back in the day. Though the pair have never had much of a relationship in the past nor have they worked together on a project over the last 20 years, Pitt’s history with her is probably what made it easy for him to rekindle their bond.
Around 20 years ago, Pitt acted in a movie called Mr. & Mrs. Smith which featured Angelina Jolie as his co-star. However, he initially wanted Kidman to be his partner in the movie. The source who spoke to In Touch revealed he couldn’t develop a friendship with the Big Little Lies star because of her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
I think he would have befriended her much earlier in her career, but Brad made a point of steering clear of Nicole in the nineties because he and Tom Cruise disliked each other so much after making Interview With a Vampire together.
Who knows if Pitt’s sudden bond with Kidman is to get back at Jolie, but may also cause a rift between her and Aniston. On the other hand, Jolie seems focused on her career and she’s probably going to win her first Oscar, a well-deserved one, for her role as Maria Callas in Maria.
