Angelina Jolie isn’t afraid to make a fashion statement. The award-winning actor and philanthropist is known for her bold style in the past, and in August 2024, she stepped out with a new shade of blond that has everyone referencing a look from her past. Here’s what to know about Jolie’s hair she debuted at the  81st Venice International Film Festival.

Angelina Jolie doesn’t often make herself the center of attention in 2024. However, her new hair, which debuted at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in August 2024, has fans talking.

The actor started the year with chocolate-brown hair, and she seamlessly transitioned that look into a lighter blonde/brunette color. While at the Venice International Film Festival, she debuted a honey blond.

“If cool-toned, icy blonde is the reserve of winter, then honey and golden blonde tones belong to autumn,” the FFØR haircare ambassador and color specialist Mathew Watt told Harper’s Bazaar. “Think the warm tonal shades of winter leaves, the inviting richness of melted butter, and the soft sunshine that comes at this time of year. That’s the essence of honey and golden blonde. There are no flat or single shades here, just strands that catch the light perfectly.”

Jolie was dressed for success in a Dior trench coat, black Celine leather boots, and black sunglasses.

The actor attended the film festival to see the premiere of Maria, in which she plays the lead. Fans on Reddit think she’s channeling a character from her past. Jolie’s blond look takes fans back to her days as Lisa Rowe in Girl, Interrupted, which premiered in 1999.

“I love the blonde on her,” a fan wrote. “Brings back Girl, Interrupted vibes.”

Angelina Jolie likes to keep her style minimalistic

Angelina Jolie is considered a style icon by many. While she’s donned iconic looks through the years, she told Vogue that she prefers to keep her fans talking about her philanthropic efforts rather than what she’s wearing.

“There are more books than clothes in my closet,” she said. “I’m not someone who likes clothes to consume her life. And I don’t love the idea of being ‘influenced.'”

Jolie added that she doesn’t tell her six kids how to dress. “Even when they were little, I just put things in front of them,” she told Vogue. Regarding public appearances, “Nobody has to go anywhere if they don’t want to, and if they don’t want to dress up, they don’t have to.”

She says she ‘loves’ aging and is embracing the changes

Angelina Jolie’s new hair might make fans reminisce about her ’90s style. However, the actor doesn’t miss being that age. She told InStyle that she embraces the aging process.

“I look in the mirror and I see that I look like my mother, and that warms me,” Jolie said, according to People. “I also see myself aging, and I love it because it means I’m alive — I’m living and getting older. Don’t love having a random dark spot from a pregnancy, sure. I see my flaws. But what I see that I like isn’t about a structure or an appearance. It’s more that I see my family in my face. I see my age.”

Jolie keeps her beauty regimen simple, aiming to spend as much time with her kids as possible. “We all have our difficult times, but as a mother, you also have a responsibility, first and foremost, towards the kids,” she added. “They are going through their formative years, and everything else comes second to that.”
