A Full Timeline of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s Love Story

There’s no doubt about it: Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are one of the most well-known celebrity couples. The dynamic duo initially met in 2016, and since then, they’ve become engaged and welcomed a daughter. And though Bloom and Perry aren’t shy about their relationship status, they rarely make red carpet appearances together. To add to the mystery, the two also (very) seldomly post on Instagram together. With all this in mind, fans may be wondering about the ins and outs of their courtship over the years. But their love story—while a bit complicated—is one for the books. From their first meeting (spoiler alert: it involves burgers) to the present day, here’s a look back at Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship.

On an episode of American Idol, Perry went into more specifics about that fateful night, revealing, “I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes and we weren't together.” "So,” she continued, “I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend's hand — he wasn't even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, 'Hey that's my burger!'"

Meanwhile, Bloom told The Times that he wasn’t “overly familiar” with his beau’s “artistic endeavors” when they first met since he is “a little older.” He also gushed, “I wouldn’t have imagined anything happening. And, you know, when you get hit sideways you get hit sideways,” before adding, “You don’t pick who you fall in love with.”
