Meghan Markle’s 10th Publicist Leaves Role After Only a Few Months

Meghan Markle’s communications team is facing another shake-up. Emily Robinson, the Duchess of Sussex’s latest director of communications, has departed after just a few months on the job, marking Meghan’s tenth publicist in recent years.

“Ms. Robinson oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan and additional support for the production company,” a spokesperson for Meghan, 44, told Us Weekly on October 24. “She did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success.”

Robinson joined Meghan and Prince Harry’s team in June, following a stint in publicity at Netflix. Reports from The Times of London and People indicate Robinson left voluntarily. This exit continues a long line of turnover: Meghan previously employed nine other communications staffers, two of whom have since moved to non-publicity roles within the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s operations.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, relocated from England to California, where they inked a major deal with Netflix. Their collaboration has produced a range of content, including the With Love, Meghan docuseries.

“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand,” Meghan shared in August. “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”

With Love, Meghan has now aired two seasons, showcasing the duchess’s passions for cooking, gardening, and other DIY crafts alongside celebrity friends. Speaking at a Forbes panel earlier this month, Meghan teased the potential for a third season:

“I think, looking at that format — again, with a year of [learning] — we’re able to say eight episodes for two seasons, it’s a lot of work,” she said. “Having done Suits for seven years, I remembered what goes into a production. I also recognize how much people want content in different sizes.”

She continued, “It’s amazing to be able to sit and watch a show for 30 minutes, but how can I give you a recipe in two minutes and where can I share that with you and how that continues to grow As Ever? So, [we’re] exploring all the options of what it could look like.”

While Meghan stayed coy on whether a third season will happen, she confirmed fans can expect a “really good” holiday special. “I do lots of gift wrapping techniques. You guys know I used to teach gift wrapping at Paper Source, an advanced gift wrapping [class],” Meghan teased. “All of those things that you do as an auditioning actor, that’s not the full circle I was expecting, but here we are.”
