Aura is the new hottest word in anime, and these aura farmers show why it's so cool. Aura can be hard to put into words, but it has quickly become the best way to characterize the vibe or energy that a character is putting out when they're on-screen.
There are a few aura farmers from older anime series, like the father of aura Piccolo, and new-gen anime has taken over. There aren't many, but there are a couple of characters in new gen anime that prove that aura farming isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
8 Every Time King is On-Screen
One-Punch Man
To everyone around him, King is the epitome of aura. He's the calmest, most destructive hero in One Punch Man, capable of winning any fight he's involved in before it even starts. His "King's Engine" is aura itself, letting anyone who stands against him know that they're only seconds away from getting destroyed.
Funnily enough, this isn't King at all. In reality, King is an incredibly nervous, normal man who somehow gets dragged into the craziest conflicts around. He's never one to get himself into trouble, but trouble constantly finds him.
King might be the luckiest character in One Punch Man. He's able to bluff his way out of situations constantly, and nobody has learned that his seemingly vicious "King's Engine" is actually just his heart beating loudly out of pure anxiety.
7 Yami vs. Vetto
Black Clover
There are a few characters with a ton of aura in Black Clover, but nobody has as much as Yami Sukehiro. The Captain of the Black Bulls isn't just one of the strongest characters in the entire series, he's one of the calmest in anime. He never cares too much about any situation, and that's only part of what makes him such an aura farmer.
Somehow, Yami is always able to surpass his limits. It doesn't matter if his back is against the wall, or if he doesn't have a technique strong enough to take his opponent out: he'll find a way. One of Yami's best aura-farming moments came during his fight with Vetto in the Seabed Temple.
Vetto had the Black Bulls cornered, and it didn't look like there was much that they could do. Yami came right when they needed him, used a brand-new ability that he was forced to create, and defeated the Eye of the Midnight Sun warrior with a single slash of his sword.
6 I Am Atomic
The Eminence in Shadow
Shadow is aura itself, and that's kind of the point. The Eminence in Shadow is one of the funniest isekai anime ever made because it's a subversion of the genre. While other anime series try to explain why their main character is so overpowered, The Eminence in Shadow doesn't care in the slightest.
Shadow does what he wants, when he wants. There's nobody even remotely close to him in the series, and that makes The Eminence in Shadow even better. There are a few times when Shadows aura is overflowing, and none more so than when he uses his textbook "I Am Atomic" abilities.
5 Tengen Uzui vs. Gyutaro
Demon Slayer
There are a few characters who radiate aura in Demon Slayer: Kyōjurō Rengoku, Giyu Tomioka, and even the main character, Tanjiro Kamado. Out of all the Demons, Demon Slayers, and the Hashira themselves, nobody has aura like Tengen Uzui.
The Sound Hashira was built to be a hype beast. He's all action, diving headfirst into battle without a second thought. He's the highlight of the Entertainment District Arc, and Demon Slayer is always better when he's on-screen.
Tengen's most aura-farming moment came during his fight against Gyutaro when it looked like all was lost. Gyutaro dealt what looked like a fatal blow to the Hashira, but it was a minor setback at most. Uzui dove back into battle missing an eye and an arm and came out on top, proving why he's the best aura farmer in the entire franchise.
4 Frieren vs. Aura
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is undoubtedly one of the best anime series of all time. It took the top spot on MyAnimeList.com as the highest-rated anime ever, and even after a single episode, it's easy to see why. Frieren is a beautiful series, and not just because it has some of the best art and design in the game.
Ironically, one of Frieren's biggest aura farming moments came against a villain named Aura. Aura the Guillotine is one of the strongest demons in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and she thought she had the titular character's number during their fight against one another.
Frieren was hiding her magic, however, and lulled Aura into a false sense of safety. After dominating Aura and using the demon's own magic against her, Frieren uttered a single phrase that changed the entire fight: "kill yourself".
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is one of the most aptly named anime series around. It's a wild ride from start to finish, no matter which JoJo is taking center stage. Jotaro Kujo is the star of the third part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, and he's one of the coolest characters in anime.
Jotaro is cooler than the other side of the pillow. Even when all seems lost, he never loses his edge. He's a focused, persistent character that won't quit no matter what. Jotaro's shining aura-farming moment came at the climax of Stardust Crusaders in his final showdown against Dio Brando.
Up to this point in the series, Dio has been untouchable. His Stand, The World, was beyond powerful, and nobody really understood how it worked. Jotaro's friends helped him figure it out, however, and Jotaro confidently walked Dio down to fight him up close and personal.
2 Gojo vs. Sukuna (First Fight)
Jujutsu Kaisen
Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna are two of the biggest aura farmers in anime. Their mere presence shapes the world around them, and they're easily two of the strongest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. Their first fight against one another showed off just how big of an aura farmer Gojo is, and he even admitted to showing off.
Itadori Yuji had just eaten the first of Sukuna's 20 fingers, reincarnating the Dishonored One into the protagonist of the series. Gojo wanted to see just how strong Sukuna was and asked Yuji if he could give up his body for just ten seconds.
Gojo puts on a clinic against Sukuna. It's not exaclty a fair fight, as Sukuna was just reincarnated and uses only a fraction of his power, but Gojo doesn't care: he just wanted to test himself against the strongest villain in history.
1 Jinwoo Arrives on Jeju Island
Solo Leveling
Jinwoo has so much aura that it should be annoying, but it isn't. Somehow, Solo Leveling has mastered the art of edgy anime, showing that it doesn't have to be cringe. Out of all of Jinwoo's amazing aura moments, none top his sudden appearance on Jeju Island.
All seems lost on the island. The S-Rank Hunters are about to be slaughtered by Ants, and out of nowhere, Sung Jinwoo appears. His arrival causes shock to the world, confuses his enemies, and makes Chairman Go Gunhee the happiest man alive. Sung Jinwoo then dominates the Ants and their King, showing why he's one of the strongest characters in Solo Leveling.
