Transformers is one of the most famous film franchises in the sci-fi genre. The franchise has given some of the highest-grossing movies of all time with a superb cast of Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. The Mark Wahlberg movies were also quite successful on the big screen, boasting a massive commercial gain. However, the recent release of Rise of the Beasts is a far cry from even breaking even on the ticket counters.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts box office failure
Anthony Ramos and Liza Koshy starred in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was released on 9th June 2023. The film had a flat fall at the box office among the seven movies in the eponymous sci-fi action movie franchise.

As per The Numbers, the film’s theatrical run is far worst than any other Transformers film with a global income of $436.7 million. The 2018 released Bumblebee earned more than the recent film, which was earlier considered the lowest gross at $465 million. The gross was against the budget of $102 million, however, the budget for Rise of the Beasts was much higher at $200 million. Hence the film was at risk of not even breaking even. However, there is a bit of hope for Video-on-demand.
Rise of the Beasts‘ box office is way less than the Transformers series’ biggest hit, 2011’s Dark of the Moon, which earned $1.12 billion in international ticket sales. Dark of the Moon featured Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox in lead roles.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts domestic chart sheet
The latest Transformers sequel showcased a promising opening weekend, with an income of $61 million domestically during its opening weekend. It even outdid Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse initial weekend earnings. However, Rise of the Beasts’ domestic tally has turned out to be the third-lowest in the franchise having an income of $157 million. As a whole, the Transformers franchise has grossed over $5.14 billion.
There are talks about sequels of the movies however the poor box office performance of the recent installments has made the decision dicey.

Like numerous other movies that did not do well and fell short of breaking even, the film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts can turn profitable through the means of home media. It is available for buying on VOD, and the Blu-ray and DVD will also be out soon.
Rise of the Beasts plot is based around Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), as the Autobots’ leader has to do an unenviable task. He teams up with the Maximals to protect Earth from massive destruction causing new threats. The film stars Academy Award-winning actor Michelle Yeoh (Airazor), Pete Davidson (Mirage), and Ron Perlman (Optimus Primal).
