10 Weakest Avengers Who Still Somehow Made The Team

By Edward Williams 10/19/2025

Not all Avengers qualifies for the description of Earth's Mightiest. The Avengers’ roster has always been a revolving door of extraordinary individuals, spanning the full spectrum of power. From cosmic titans like Thor and Captain Marvel to human geniuses like Iron Man and Black Panther, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes often compete to prove who stands at the top.

Yet not every Avenger can contend for that upper echelon. Many earn their place through intellect and ingenuity. Their lack of superhuman power makes their heroism even more impressive. These are the Avengers whose courage outweighs their capabilities.

10 Hawkeye

Clint Barton Is The Epitome Of The Everyman Avenger

Hawkeye’s inclusion among the Avengers is often taken for granted due to how weak he really is. Clint Barton is a man with no special abilities other than his accuracy. Although his aim borders on superhuman, Hawkeye is just a very skilled sharpshooter. A stray bullet or a well-placed blow could end him instantly.

Yet, Hawkeye embodies the Avenger spirit better than most of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Clint Barton stands on the same front lines as Marvel's greatest titans and contributes just as much to the team as its biggest powerhouses. More often than not, Hawkeye ends up taking less damage than his stronger colleagues.

9 Jack of Hearts

Jack Hart Would Be Extremely Powerful If He Could Control His Energy

Jack of Hearts' volatile energy led to the accidental destruction of the Avengers Mansion and the death of Scott Lang. Despite this, Jack’s intentions have always been heroic. His sacrifice during Avengers Disassembled proved his heart is pure. Although he's a ticking bomb and he rarely gets to use his powers, Jack of Hearts' heart is in the right place.

8 Daredevil

Matt Murdock Knows He Isn't An Avengers-Level Hero

Matt Murdock’s courage and skill are undeniable, but beside the Avengers, his limitations are clear. Daredevil’s heightened senses and martial arts mastery make him a formidable street-level hero, yet they offer little defense against godlike enemies or cosmic invasions. Daredevil's tools are his fists and billy clubs, nothing more.

Daredevil’s brief time aiding the Avengers led him to admit that he isn't built for their scale of warfare. Instead, Daredevil thrives in the alleys alongside other street-level vigilantes. An Avenger in spirit, Daredevil is the best guardian of Hell’s Kitchen.

Delroy Garrett Jr. Is A Slightly Superhuman Athlete

Delroy Garrett Jr., known as Triathlon, was never destined to be the powerhouse of any Avengers roster. He has triple the strength, speed, and endurance of a peak human, which sounds impressive on its own, but not so much when compared to beings who can lift tanks or outrun lightning. Against foes like Ultron or Kang, Triathlon's enhancements are the same thing as nothing at all.

Triathlon seems redundant among the Avengers. He's strong and fast, but nowhere near indispensable. A disgraced athlete stripped of his Olympic medals, Triathlon finds purpose through the Triune Understanding, a cult that later turns out to be manipulative. Joining the Avengers helps him confront prejudice and earn a second chance, but he doesn't contribute much to the team.

6 Mockingbird

Bobbi Morse Possesses The Same Weaknesses As Her Husband

Mockingbird is a brilliant S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and biochemist. Just like her husband Hawkeye, however, she possesses no superhuman powers and relies entirely on agility, combat training, and her own signature weapon, the battle staves. Bobbi Morse's physicality is closer to a spy’s than a superhero’s, and she lacks the fame that makes Hawkeye stand out among the powerless.

Nevertheless, Mockingbird has carved out an enduring legacy through her adaptability. She has exposed corruption within S.H.I.E.L.D. and led her own teams. Though her victories rarely hinge on raw power, Mockingbird's persistence and sharp instincts make her an invaluable asset when strategy matters most.

5 Night Thrasher

Dwayne Taylor Is Marvel's Batman, With No Fortune And Less Impressive Training

Night Thrasher lacks superhuman abilities, which already sets him far below most Avengers in terms of raw power. Dwayne Taylor is a peak human athlete and a skilled martial artist, but against cosmic-level threats or superpowered villains, those traits barely make a dent. His armored suit and high-tech skateboard give him style and mobility, but not true strength. Among Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, he’s simply outmatched.

Still, Dwayne Taylor’s determination and leadership make him hard to dismiss. As founder of the New Warriors and a member of Captain America's Avengers Emergency Response Squad, Night Thrasher proves a strategist’s mind can rival a god’s hammer. Dwayne Taylor's vigilante methods and refusal to compromise help him stand out in a crowd of similarly proficient martial artists.

4 Agent 13

Sharon Carter Is A Skilled SHIELD Agent

Among the Avengers’ ranks of gods, geniuses, and living legends, Sharon Carter stands out due to her human nature and lack of enhancements. As Agent 13, she’s an elite S.H.I.E.L.D. operative with combat and espionage training, but with no super-soldier serum and no advanced tech; just a handgun, grit, and decades of field expertise. Against superhuman threats, Sharon's odds of survival are slim.

Even so, Sharon Carter has consistently proved her worth as a hero. Agent 13's tactical brilliance has saved the Avengers more times than her lack of powers has endangered them. She’s infiltrated impossible enemy strongholds, uncovered Hydra plots, and fought shoulder-to-shoulder with Captain America.

3 Swordsman

Jack Duquesne's Courage Is Greater Than His Strength

Jack Duquesne's deadly swordsmanship takes him only one step above regular humans. The Swordsman is a skilled fencer and acrobat, but he has no enhanced strength or senses. His weapon, a technologically upgraded sword once provided by the Mandarin, originally gives him a temporary edge, but even that relies on outside assistance.

A former mercenary and con artist, Swordsman fights to reclaim his honor by joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Though never their strongest member, he showcases an impressive amount of courage by sacrificing himself to protect Mantis. Like stronger heroes such as Spider-Man and Iron Man, Swordsman’s legacy endures through his sheer determination to die as a hero.

2 Mr. Immortal

Craig Hollis a.k.a. Mr. Immortal possesses one of the most valuable gifts in the Marvel Universe: he cannot die. No matter how gruesome his demise, Mr. Immortal always returns, alive and intact. Unfortunately, he has no enhanced strength, no speed, and no special combat skills. Mr. Immortal's immortality is a curse rather than a blessing, as he masters death but usually finds himself unable to weaponize it.

Despite these shortcomings, Mr. Immortal has earned genuine respect within the Great Lakes Avengers and the primary Avengers themselves. His immortality ensures he can face catastrophic threats others cannot, even if it means serving as the team’s resident distraction. Throughout the years, Mr. Immortal has accepted his curse, knowing he'll die painfully and return again to repeat the process.

1 Demolition Man

Dennis Dunphy's Whole Shtick Is Being Underpowered

Demolition Man occupies one of the lowest tiers of Marvel's power levels. Dennis Dunphy is a former wrestler enhanced by an experimental serum that comes nowhere near Captain America's Super Soldier formula. D-Man's lack of discipline has made him an inconsistent ally, often sidelined when true world-ending threats appear.

D-Man has repeatedly risked his life for his heroic duties and operated in the streets long after his days as an Avenger ended. He’s fought crime among the forgotten and offered compassion where the superpowered rarely look. Demolition Man's rough edges and modest power make him an unlikely hero, but he's a particularly human Avenger.
